Overview

Advantech Linux EC Drivers currently include brightness, gpio, hwmon, watchdog, led, eeprom and common. All the ec related platform drivers depends on the adv-ec driver.

• Bug Fixed: After set watchdog timeout,then enable watchdog,the system will always reboot after 45s.

Notes

1. Drivers will be installed in the folder /usr/src/advantech/advec (by tar.gz) or /usr/src/advec-2.26 (by deb) and loaded during the booting process.

2. When the system boots up, all of these drivers will be loaded. Each driver is provided with test program which can be found in /usr/src/advantech/advec/example.

3. Package prerequisites:

$ sudo apt install build-essential

$ sudo apt install dkms

$ sudo apt install lm-sensors

Known issues

• #29153 The value of VCORE get by hwmon is lower than the standard value, when system is not busy, on the some platform.
• #29154 About the "hwmon" driver's warnning will be printed in kernel log,when the EC Driver be installed.
• #31692 Found "adv_ec: module verification failed: signature and/or required key missing - tainting kernel" failed message by dmesg.
• #35255 WDIOC_SETPRETIMEOUT and WDIOC_GETPRETIMEOUT error 'Inappropriate ioctl for device'.
